COACHING STAFF
We pride ourselves at Shear Soccer by using coaches who's knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the game is second to none.
We are unique in the fact that all of our coaches are either ex professional football players and/or have experience at working at professional clubs Centre of Excellence/Academies.
All our coaches are also qualified to at least FA Level 2, First Aid qualified, are CRB registered and hold Child Protection certificates.

Adam is the Head Coach of Shear Soccer and currently works in a number of Primary and Secondary schools across Torbay and South Devon. Adam has gained vast coaching experience in recent years having run many local courses for young footballers and has also completed two summers coaching and directing at Camps and Academies for 'FC Seattle' and 'Goal Line' in the USA as well as a summer touring the UK as a coach for Manchester United Soccer Schools. Adam is a former Head Coach of Chelston Junior FC, which has 16 youth teams and has also worked at the 'Centre of Excellence' and 'Football in the Community ' programmes at Torquay United. Adam is a former Devon Youth team captain and Exeter City Youth team player who currently plays for Dawlish Town in the Toolstation Western League where he is also the assistant manager.Adam also works as the clubs 'Football in the Community' Officer and also helps to run a 'Plymouth Argyle Development Centre' based at South Devon College.
ROBBIE HERRERA
Robbie holds a UEFA B Licence and has played for many clubs in his professional career including QPR, Leyton Orient, Fulham and Torquay Utd. Robbie is the former Centre of Excellence Director at Torquay Utd and has many years experience working with players from 7 years old up to senior level. Robbie also runs Torquay based Chelston JFC and currently plays for Western League Liskeard Athletic.
CHRIS MYERS
Chris is also a UEFA B Licence holder and ex professional. He has played for Scarborough, Exeter City, Dundee Utd and Torquay Utd. Chris is a former Exeter City youth team coach and has also got experience of working with a wide range of age groups. Chris is current First team manager of Western League Dawlish Town.
LEON HAPGOOD
Leon is a former professional with Torquay United having returned to them after playing over 100 league games for them in his first spell. His other clubs include Plymouth Argyle, Yeovil Town, Taunton Town, Bideford and Clevedon Town. Leon holds a UEFA B Licence and is a current Torquay Utd youth team coach as well as coaching at the South Devon College Academy and runs a Devon FA centre of excellence at Ottery St. Mary.
RAY COLES
Ray holds an FA Level 2 badge. Ray has vast experience with coaching and managing youth teams from Under 7 to Under 15. Rays particular strength is his ability to maximise the potential of younger players with his knowledge and enthusiasm. He is the current coach of Chelston Junior U9s who have not lost a game for 2 seasons.
NICK MILTON
Nick works tirelessly helping to develop players who are looking to break into the professional game. He coaches older players at the South Devon College Academy as well as helping to run a Satellite centre at the College for Plymouth Argyle youth players. Nick holds a UEFA B Licence.
Tom Chishlom
Tom is currently working towards his FA level 2 Badge having just completed his A level studies. He has experience of working with players of Primary school age and is a regular coach at Denbury Athletic Under 12's
HELEN MORSE
Helen is a holder of a Level 2 badge and is working towards her UEFA B
Licence. She is an experienced coach and player having been a member of
Newton Abbot Ladies FC. Helen is Girls Head Coach of Chelston JFC and runs
our girls courses.
Ken Griffiths
Ken is our goalkeeping Coach. Ken has played pressionally for Torquay United and Hereford United. He has also had the benefit of training with premiership clubs Aston Villa and Leicester City. During this time he has worked with some fine Goalkeepers including Neville Southall, Ian walker, Tim flowers, Peter Enckleman and Stefan Postma. Ken has represented Wales at U19 level and works with promising young Goalkeepers on a regular basis
